The amethyst stone is very nice, but the band is significantly less substantial than it appears in the picture. It is not flimsy, but it is obviously thinner than it appears here. It is definitely too thin to complement the size of the amethyst stone, so although I think the ring is decent quality, it appears of lower quality because they obviously skimped on the gold. For the price of this ring, I expected a more substantial band. I hope Amazon does not delete this review.
Edited to Add: I see the price has increased to over $300 for this ring. That's truly ridiculous for a semi-precious stone set in extremely lightweight gold.
