(More customer reviews)I picked out this engagement ring because we are on a budget, but wanted something beautiful. I can't tell you how many unsolicited compliments I get about this. Even though the center diamond is small, the round pave diamonds around it make it look much bigger - but not in a tacky way, at all. It's very classic and yet modern, and kind of looks like an art deco heirloom piece on my hand. Can't take my eyes off of it, and it picks up the light beautifully. The transaction with Diamond Me was also very nice - came quickly, though in the most comical packaging (huge box with 3 progressively smaller boxes inside). We had quite a laugh opening it. The inclusion of a personalized appraisal is a nice touch. I confirmed with the local jeweler where I had it sized (my fault for ordering too large, and i wanted to wear it very quickly) that the appraisal is correct.
One thing to note is that the round setting (where the center stone and pave diamonds are) is raised from the band, which is not very well reflected in the photos. I really like that, but some folks might not. It *does* mean that when you get the wedding band, it will fit flush very nicely against this ring. Another important aspect to me is that it is incredibly comfortable and does NOT catch on clothing like some prong settings. I'm not sure if this is because the prongs are smoother than some settings, but this is something I was looking for in a ring I would wear every day. The band is thick enough that it does not bend or warp like cheaper rings, but is thin enough to be comfortable.
In all, I recommend this ring for someone looking for a classic, ladylike, and inexpensive (but certainly not tacky or fake) engagement ring option.
